Mr. Raj Shah, CEO & President of CTIS, Inc., chairs IAMMM Annual Gala

The Institute for the Advancement of Multicultural & Minority Medicine (IAMMM) requested Raj Shah, CEO & President of CTIS, Inc., to chair the Sixth Anniversary Awards Benefit Gala- Saluting Survivors… Promoting Life.” CTIS proudly supports the IAMMM programs as it strives to make a difference and improve the quality of life for those in undeserved, multi-cultural communities. The IAMMM has many admirable goals and objectives set forth to accomplish and with the help of sponsors they are able to become that much closer to diminishing health disparities. This annual Gala is held to not only contribute to the success of the IAMMM program but to recognize the those leaders in medicine who have themselves faced serious health conditions and survived. Mr. Shah facing his current advesity proudly supported the survivors.

CTIS Receives Incremental Funding Modification from NCI

Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program (CTEP), Division of Cancer Treatment and Diagnosis (DCTD), NCI has released an Incremental Funding Modification to their current contract with Health Informatics Solutions Company, CTIS, Inc. This additional funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, allows CTIS to continue providing support for the NCI informatics and computer systems initiatives of CTEP. These efforts include fulfilling the mission areas of Software Development, Software Testing, Documentation, Training, Software Maintenance, Server Maintenance and LAN Support, Security/Disaster Recovery, Clinical Data Update System (CDUS), Project Planning and overall project Efficiency and Quality.

According to CTIS’ Executive Vice President and COO,Mehul Shah, “CTEP-ESYS provides us with a wonderful opportunity to continue to provide support for such a path changing initiative. We strongly support the scope of this contract and delivering improved efficiency, performance and results to all aspects of clinical trials.”

CTIS Launches New Release of the CTIS Process Asset Library

CTIS launches a new release of the CTIS Process Asset Library 4.0.0 is in production. New features and improved functionality have been added to the project: CMMI Level 3, in the areas of Organizational Training, Technical Solutions and Project Planning.

CTIS participates in the 3rd annual Small Business Conference

CTIS, Inc. attended the 3rd Annual Small Business Conference, entitled “A Dialogue for Partnership: A Collaborative Information Exchange Between Government and Industry,” on March, 24th in Arlington, Virginia. The conference was sponsored by the American Council for Technology Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC), a nonprofit organization whose mission is to enable professionals from both private and public sectors to join forces in assisting the government in aiding the Americans through building networks, strong relationships, and sharing resources. CTIS, Inc. was able to establish new ties with other attendees and acquire much valuable information from the educational sessions on topics targeted towards navigating toward an interoperable health IT environment, strategies, discovery of opportunities, developing winning partnerships, and earned value management. We look forward to what the 4th Annual Small Business Conference brings to us next year and plan to participate in it as well.

CTIS Attended caBIG® 2009 Annual Meeting

As a caBIG® Solutions Services provider CTIS, Inc. exhibited in the Annual Meeting Solving basic and Clinical Challenges in Cancer and Beyond, July 20-22, 2009. The Annual Meeting held at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, DC, was a 3 day meeting discussing how the use of interoperable tools and infrastructure will increase collaboration and connectivity which will accelerate and geographically expand biomedical research. CTIS is strongly committed to cancer and the initiatives of caBIG® and continues to support, contribute and engage ourselves fully to the global health IT movement.

CTIS Bridges C-DAC & caBIG®

CTIS, bridged the cancer Biomedical Informatics Grid (caBIG®) and The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, (C-DAC) in India through the setup of the caArray services at C-DAC’s Bangalore facilities. For the cancer Biomedical Informatics Grid (caBIG®) in the United States, the C-DAC, in India provides a tremendous opportunity for caBIG® to expand it caGrid infrastructure to reach a relatively untapped population and thereby help deliver critical medical informatics sharing services and unsurpassed collaboration with the extended International Cancer community. CTIS, a Solution Services Provider license holder for caBIG®, set out to accomplish this task days before the 2009 Annual caBIG® meeting and successfully delivered on its undertaking to link the C-DAC facilities to caGRID.

Leads Videoconference on Nanotechnology

Today, CTIS coordinated and led a videoconference on South Asian Regional Cooperation in the field of Nanotechnology. The World Bank requested that CTIS lead the videoconference, which connected several thought leaders and policy makers in South Asia, including the Sri Lankan Minister for Science and Technology. The event was organized with the help of the World Bank’s Global Development Learning Network. During the videoconference, CTIS’ Anil Srivastava gave a presentation on his own research and the subject of Nanotechnology in Medicine.

CTIS Attended Bio 2009 Conference

CTIS, Inc. attended the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) Annual International Convention held on May 18-21st, 2009 at the Georgia World Congress Center. Delegates and attendees gathered from all around the world not only to expand their networking arena and gain insight on the latest strategic and deal making plans, but to be inspired, and inspired we were. CTIS engaged in keynote breakout sessions given by CEOs, scientists and celebrities, peer to peer discussion and exhibition halls gaining knowledge on the latest trends in the biotech market, the latest product technologies and the development of creative business models. We look forward to attending the 2010 Bio International Convention in Chicago, IL, as it is the largest global event for the biotechnology industry.

CTIS, Inc., named caBIG® Support Service Provider

CTIS Inc., a health informatics company, today announced that it has become a licensed cancer Biomedical Informatics Grid (caBIG®) Support Service Provider for the National Cancer Institute (NCI) in the categories of Help Desk Support for the Clinical Trials Compatibility Framework, Deployment Support for caBIG® Software Applications, and Training Material and Services.

The NCI’s caBIG® is an open source, open access information network that connects the cancer research community and enables the sharing of data through a common, standards-based electronic infrastructure. caBIG® facilitates collaborative research and allows investigators to answer research questions more rapidly and efficiently, thereby promising to accelerate progress in all aspects of cancer research– from etiologic research to prevention, early detection, and treatment.

CTIS Inc., was evaluated by four key criteria: technical capability, scalability, geographic coverage, and domain expertise, and based on this evaluation was accepted as a Support Service Provider in the categories of Help Desk Support for the Clinical Trials Compatibility Framework, Deployment Support for caBIG® Software Applications, and Training Material and Services.

CTIS is pleased to announce an award for Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program (CTEP) Informatics and Computer Support

CTIS received a contract over the span of 7 years for the Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program (CTEP) Informatics and Computer Support beginning February 1, 2009 by National Cancer Institute (NCI). CTIS has been working on the CTEP informatics contract for the last 18 years.

The purpose of this contract is to develop, maintain, and expand the existing CTEP Enterprise Information System (CTEP-ESYS) to support the NCI research community and to migrate towards future NCI wide enterprise development initiatives and the cancer biomedical informatics grid (caBIGTM).

CTIS has partnered with various organizations, hospitals and academic medical institutions for this proposal:

  1. Digital Infuzion – Is a teaming partner and will provide project support in the areas of Software Development, Program Management and Customer Relations
  2. SAIC - Is a teaming partner and will provide project support in the areas of Program Management, Nanotechnology, Translational Research, Bioinformatics and Systems Biology.
  3. ScenPro - Is a teaming partner and will provide project support in the areas of Software Development meeting the guidelines of caBIGTM, and support in the area of training
  4. Advance Systems, Inc. - Is a teaming partner and will provide project support in the areas of Software Development and Customer Relations.
  5. A senior executive physician at Washington Cancer Institute (WCI) at Washington Hospital Center (WHC) will serve in an advisory capacity in the areas of Clinical Research and Management expertise.
  6. Inova Health System – The CEO and senior management will serve in an advisory capacity
  7. Johns Hopkins University (JHU) – It will serve in an advisory capacity in building Clinical Research, Clinical Informatics, Bioinformatics and Translational Research studies and will also assist in expanding training & education in the Health Informatics area.
  8. Georgetown University - Senior scientists will serve in an advisory capacity in the areas of Nanotechnology, Translational Research and Research Information Systems.
  9. Virginia Bioinformatics Institute (VBI) at Virginia Tech - Senior scientists will serve in an advisory capacity in the areas of Nanotechnology, Translational Research, Bioinformatics, Systems Biology and Research Information Systems.

About Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program (CTEP): The mission of the CTEP is to improve the lives of cancer patients by finding better ways to treat, control and cure cancer. CTEP accomplishes this mission by funding an extensive national program of cancer research and by sponsoring clinical trials to evaluate new anti-cancer agents, with a particular emphasis on translational research to elucidate molecular targets and mechanisms of drug effects.
