The National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD), NIH has awarded a Grant Number U54MD008608 to CTIS to build a Transdisciplinary Coordination Center (TCC) as defined by The Health Policy Research Consortium (HPRC) Program. The purpose of the center, HRPC, is to close the gap in healthcare across social, ethnic, and racial groups in the DC, MD and VA area (DMV). The focus of the center is how health policies influence the access of ethnic and racial minorities to adequate and affordable healthcare. The grant award is set over a period of five years, which will allow CTIS to expand upon its commitment to reducing health disparity.

CTIS, with its motivation to leverage the power of health informatics in order to improve patient outcomes while lowering healthcare costs, has received this grant. This will allow CTIS to showcase its experience in policy knowledge, information technology, research, education, outreach, analysis, communication, process re-engineering, program management, and best practices.
