CTIS, as a founding partner of International Spirit of Healing (ISOH), sponsors a scholarship program called ‘The Rina Shah Short-Term Exchange Program (STEP)’ to better connect the Global Virus Network (GVN) Centers. The program offers opportunities in skill-building and in developing collaborations between emerging medical virologists with the goal of maintaining and increasing their interest in medical virology as a career. This program will support travel of up to 2 weeks for post-doctoral level scientists and assistant professors in order to enhance medical virology skills or knowledge sets, or to develop collaborative research proposals.

The Global Virus Network (GVN), a non-profit organization, is a coalition of top medical virology institutions worldwide working to address all viral challenges to human health and to prepare for the emergence and potential spread of new viruses globally. GVN supports research, training, education, and advocacy in medical virology.
